Job summary

MDA Space in Montreal is seeking a Project Lead - Digital-Analog PCB Design to guide a cross-disciplinary hardware design team for satellite and space-based systems. You’ll translate system requirements into mixed-signal PCB architectures, from conception through validation and integration, with a focus on reliability and performance.

The role demands ten years of PCB experience, leadership, and fluency in English and French.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
• Ten years minimum experience designing processor, high-speed or mixed signal PCBs.
• Three years in leadership experience managing electronics development teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Digital/Analog design team for space products.
• Coordinate cross-functional team across RF, systems, power, digital, manufacturing, structure, packaging, EMC, and thermal.
• Responsible for leading a team to deliver on program cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Plan and schedule reviews with various specialties (structure, thermal, packaging, manufacturing, QA).
• Oversee procurement production tasks to ensure cost and schedule are met.
• Prioritize team tasks and goals to meet program milestones.
• Provide and communicate understanding of programmatic aspects to the technical team.
• Lead sub-contractual activities and support new business proposal opportunities.
• Report on staffing levels to program manager.
• Assess risk and make risk-based decisions to ensure program objectives.
• Ensure Digital/Analog team follow quality and reliability standards.
• Support digital department improvement initiatives.
• Guide junior members and new employees.
• Coordinate with leads to translate system requirements into electronic unit requirements.
