Job summary

MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Corp. in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC, is seeking a Junior Digital-Analog PCB Engineer/Designer to join a hardware team designing and validating mixed-signal PCBs for space applications.

You will assist with schematic capture, layout constraints, BOMs, and testing under a senior lead. The role emphasizes space-grade design, documentation, and collaboration across disciplines; French communication skills are important, English optional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge and some experience with Excel spreadsheets, Pyhton, MathCAD, Spice, Matlab, JIRA or other tools.
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits and communication protocols
• PCB design experience is an asset
• Some lab experience with electronic circuits and instrumentation such as oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer
• Exposure to a schematic entry tool (e.g., Mentor Xpedition, PADS, OrCAD)
• Academic exposure to RF design, signal processing or motor control design.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills in French; knowledge of English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply digital/analog hardware design for space environment under supervision.
• Oversee board assembly and manufacturing tests under supervision.
• Contribute to creation of review presentations, test plans, procedures.
• Assist senior members in testing, troubleshooting, debugging of mixed-signal boards.
• Contribute to scripting for hardware design of flight electronics validation.
• Report progress and issues to lead.
