Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks during peak service times.
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent culinary training is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Role Description

The Sous Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role supports the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation of Canadian-inspired menu items. The Sous Chef helps manage kitchen staff schedules, trains team members on recipes and safety standards, and promotes a positive, inclusive work environment. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory and food costs, maintaining cleanliness and food safety compliance, coordinating with front-of-house teams during busy service periods, and contributing to menu development and special events. The Sous Chef plays a key role in delivering a fun, engaging guest experience by ensuring efficient, high-quality service in a fast-paced entertainment setting.

Qualifications
  • Strong culinary skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu execution, ideally within high-volume or casual dining environments.
  • Experience in kitchen leadership, including staff supervision, mentoring, shift management, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, health regulations, and best practices for kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to manage inventory, control food and labor costs, and support ordering and stock rotation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail during peak service times.
  • Formal culinary training, Red Seal certification, or equivalent professional experience is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by an entertainment-focused operation.
