Job summary

Purolator is seeking a part-time AM Sorter at the Fort McMurray Depot. This role involves sorting freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules, with morning hours 06:00–09:00, Monday to Friday, 15 hours per week.

Expect a wage of 28.93 CAD per hour and a team-based warehouse environment where safety, accuracy, and efficiency are valued. Prior experience is not required and a criminal record check may be required during pre-employment screening.

• Criminal record check and employment verification may be required.
• Police clearance certificate when required.

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and into curbside trucks.
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out.
• Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer.
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles.
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items.
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages.

Description

Location: Fort McMurray Depot - #1 240 MacKay Crescent

Working Hours: Part Time 15 hours per week

Monday to Friday 06:00am-09:00am

Wage: $28.93 per hour

The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
• Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery

Requirements

• Proper scan and load techniques
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a time sensitive environment
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• Attention to process, quality and/or operational standards
• Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
• Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required

Experience

Specialized education is not required.
No experience necessary.
