Job summary

CHARM Fertility in Canada seeks an experienced Sonographer to perform and evaluate ultrasound examinations, assist in ultrasound-guided procedures, and deliver accurate diagnoses. You will operate ultrasound equipment and contribute to quality control while reporting findings.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years' experience with transabdominal and transvaginal scans, and hold a CMRITO certification. The role emphasizes independent work and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program; degree/post-diploma preferred.
• CMRITO certified.
• Minimum 3 years' experience performing and assessing ultrasound exams with transabdominal and transvaginal scanning.
• Experience with sonohysterograms, endovaginal scans, follicular monitoring and early pregnancy obstetric scanning.
• Strong judgment to protect patient and team safety; excellent image quality.
• Excellent time management, organization, and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly; strong problem-solving skills.
• Communicates effectively with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors in ultrasound-guided procedures such as sonohysterograms.
• Provide optimum patient-centered care and professional conduct.
• Report, review, and record ultrasound findings for accurate diagnosis.
• Consult with physicians about ultrasound results as needed.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; participate in QC/QA tests.
• Perform and assess transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds for infertility and obstetric patients.
• Contribute to team-building concepts and departmental goals.
• Work independently without supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Summary:

The Sonographer will be responsible for performing and evaluating the ultrasound examinations for various medical purposes. They will assist doctors in ultrasound-guided procedures and provide accurate diagnoses by reporting and reviewing findings. The Sonographer will operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, actively contribute to team building, and demonstrate the ability to work independently.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist doctors in ultrasound-guided procedures such as sonohysterograms
• Provide optimum patient-centered care and demonstrate a professional manner in the work setting
• Report, review, and record findings of ultrasound scans to provide accurate patient diagnosis
• Consult with physicians as needed about ultrasound results
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment through participation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests
• Perform and assess ultrasound examinations (Transabdominal and Transvaginal) for infertility patients, 1st-trimester pregnancy evaluation, endovaginal scan, follicular monitoring, obstetrical scanning (early pregnancy), pelvic ultrasound for gynecology patients
• Actively participate in team building concepts and development of departmental goals
• Work independently without supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited degree/post-diploma Ultrasound program or recognized equivalent preferred
• CMRITO certified
• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing and assessing ultrasound examinations, including proficiency in transabdominal and transvaginal scanning, sonohysterograms, endovaginal scans, follicular monitoring, early pregnancy obstetric scanning, and pelvic ultrasounds for gynecological patients
• Good judgment to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
• Strong technical skills and image quality
• Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Excellent problem-solving and recognition skills
