• Extensive Sonic drilling experience at a Supervisory level.
• Proven leadership ability.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Good communication skills – written and oral.
• First Aid/CPR required.
• H2S required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching to develop your team.
• Address performance or conduct issues promptly and respectfully.
• Co-ordinate and allocate work to meet drilling plans and run rates while maintaining safety compliance.
• Complete and approve daily rig reports for payroll and client invoicing.
• Provide technical advice to staff to manage rig operations.
• Conduct daily shift meetings.
• Liaise with the Project Leader on drilling progress.
• Lead safety leadership and risk assessments and job safety analysis.
• Report hazards or injuries to client and management immediately.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Boart Longyear is currently seeking experienced Sonic Supervisors to join our team. The successful applicant will have an excellent attitude towards safety and possess a strong team‑leadership focus. A passion for Sonic drilling and a strong work ethic is essential. Boart Longyear offers ongoing training and developmental opportunities as well as competitive salary and bonus scheme.

Hourly Wage: $70.73-$87.50/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching to develop your team.
• Address any performance or conduct issues as they arise in a timely and respectful manner.
• Co-ordinate and allocate work as required to meet drilling plans and run rates in the most cost effective/efficient way while meeting safety compliance requirements, including the co-ordination of relief team members as required.
• Complete and approve daily rig reports to send to contracts administrators for payroll and client invoicing requirements.
• Provide technical advice to staff to effectively manage rig operations.
• Conduct daily shift meetings.
• Liaise with the Project Leader regarding the progress of the drilling program.
• Safety leadership and assisting team members with the development of thorough risk assessments and job safety analysis.
• Report all safety hazards or workplace injury/illness to the client and management immediately.
• Lead investigations of all incidents / hazard management issues that occur in the work area and on shift and ensure effective corrective actions are identified, implemented and monitored in a timely and productive manner.

Education & Experience

• Extensive Sonic drilling experience at a Supervisory level
