Job summary

A leading company in asset maintenance is seeking a Solutions Specialist to support the sales team in developing new projects. Job Summary:

The solutions specialist supports the sales team on strategic projects that develop our new project base. He/She estimates mechanical jobs for small to mid-size opportunities and retrofits. This individual has advanced knowledge of mechanical systems and networks to provide clients with innovative solutions, as well as configuring and estimating complex systems. The Solutions Specialist accurately estimates labor and material costs and provides technical support and advice to Sales and Operations teams. He/She acts as an external liaison working with clients and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction. The Solutions Specialist develops and maintains engineering design and pricing resources for field sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Respond to client technical support inquiries.
  2. Provide RFP/RFI support to potential clients accurately and efficiently.
  3. With sales, operations, and project managers, complete site surveys to determine client needs and ensure project requirements are met, including safety standards. Design, configure, and estimate systems for the Sales Team.
  4. Assist sales by providing project labor and equipment costs, counts, ensuring part number accuracy, and assembling permit packages. Value projects by product and installation, and create scope documents for subcontractors.
  5. Provide operational and troubleshooting advice as needed. Evaluate customer site system requirements and provide accurate job estimates. Research and develop alternative, improved solutions when possible.
  6. Act as an external liaison for owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and tradespeople as needed. Facilitate project turnover meetings between sales and operations teams.
  7. Stay informed about new product information and educate others. Develop and maintain resources such as technical libraries, cut sheets, manuals, and vendor product information. Assist in establishing and verifying pricing including subcontractor/vendor costs.
  8. Perform all other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  1. Post-secondary technical degree or relevant licenses such as 313A Refrigeration Journeyman, Plumbing Journeyman 306A, G1-TSSA Gas License, or Professional Engineer designation.
  2. 10 years of Mechanical Systems Experience with knowledge of Air conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration, Steam, and Hydronic Systems.
  3. Experience in responding to client inquiries in a similar setting.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency with MS Office applications; Excel is essential.
  6. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize conflicting demands.
