Job Overview

In this role, you'll oversee the operation and maintenance of network components in a dynamic multi-vendor environment, focusing on problem analysis, software configuration, hardware replacement, and maintaining professionalism and data security.

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement efficient computer networks, including connections and cabling.
2. Diagnose system issues, troubleshoot network bottlenecks, and apply corrective measures.
3. Identify and resolve issues within LAN infrastructure, from minor glitches to major bugs.
4. Configure, test software, and perform hardware repairs and maintenance.
5. Evaluate and optimize network performance.
6. Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance.
7. Provide guidance and instructions to team members.
8. Collaborate with peers to ensure high-quality standards.

Technical Skills

1. 5-7 years of senior-level technical support, system administration, or similar experience.
2. Proficiency in cybersecurity incident response, containment, and remediation.
3. Experience with system, network, and application rebuilding and restoration.
4. Knowledge of VMWare ESX/Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Windows environments.
5. Experience with hardware platforms like NAS, SAN, servers, and networking devices.
6. Strong communication skills for addressing customer issues.
7. Networking expertise, including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP), DHCP, DNS, VPN, IPv4, IPv6.
8. Network switching skills, VLANs, port security, and enterprise wireless solutions (Cisco, Aruba, FortiNet).
9. Experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, FTD, CheckPoint, FortiNet PaloAlto, Meraki).
10. Ability to analyze network traffic.
11. Analytical and organizational skills for independent and team work.

Qualifications

1. Experience as a network technician or similar role.
2. Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
3. Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi technologies.
4. TIL version 3 Foundation or Practitioner Certification.
5. Post-secondary education in IT or related field.
6. Vendor certifications (ACMA/ACMP, ACDA/ACDP) preferred.
7. BSc/BA in computer science or engineering (preferred).
8. Experience with solution design, technical infrastructure, and support documentation.
9. Familiarity with data center environments, cloud architectures, SDWAN, Citrix ADC, VPN, and security services.
10. Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
