MEDA Engineering & Technical Services in Ottawa is seeking an experienced Software Testing Senior Associate to join our onsite team supporting an automotive client. You will help deliver embedded software, design tests from requirements and architecture, and contribute to test automation efforts.

The role requires 3+ years in software development or automation testing on embedded platforms, with C/C++ and Python proficiency and familiarity with test frameworks and JIRA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or similar scientific field.
• 3+ years of software development and/or automation testing, preferably on embedded platforms.
• Experience with C/C++ and Python for test development and scripting.
• Familiarity with manual and automated software testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Software Testing Senior Associate to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. NOTE: Fully onsite

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Software infrastructure that enables Ethernet connectivity and advanced application features in next-generation vehicles, including the hardware platform and complex software for networking, security, IPC, power management, and other vital functional components


• Help deliver cutting-edge embedded software, working on system components that provide enabling frameworks or additional functional services above operating system services and drivers


• Encouraged to contribute ideas and solutions in their daily work


• Interface with product owners, development, and test teams to create test designs from software requirements and architecture documents


• Documenting and validating software test plans


• Test execution, root cause analysis, triaging defects and validating fixes


• Test automation, scripting and reporting


• Creating tests in C/C++ or Python and interfacing with existing test frameworks


• Maintaining test libraries and tools to support regression and new feature testing


• Preparing and analyzing test coverage reports


• Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar scientific field


• 3+ years of software development and/or automation testing, preferably on embedded platforms


• Working knowledge of C++ or C and Python for use in understanding existing code and writing test applications and scripts


• Working knowledge of distributed, multi-threaded system concepts


• Familiarity with manual and automated software testing procedures


• Experience with test management systems and defect tracking systems


• Highly proficient in writing and reading


• Familiar with use of common libraries


• C++ is an asset but not mandatory

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• $52.00 - $56.00/hour (depending on experience)


• Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.


• Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
