Job summary

L3Harris WESCAM in Waterdown, Ontario is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op for a 16-month term. You will be part of the Embedded Software team to support new and existing product designs.

As a co-op, you will validate, test and debug designs, and analyze improvements for reliability, performance and cost reductions. Enrolled in a CS/EE/CE/Software Eng program with C/C++ and Python knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming.
• Experience with Python for scripting.
• Understanding of real time operating systems, and multi-threaded real time code.
• Understanding of embedded systems design (hardware & software).
• Familiarity with standard test equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters and signal generators.
• Strong mathematical and analysis skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. About the Role

This is a 16 month co-op term (with 12 month terms occasionally available). You will be working as a part of the embedded software team to support new and existing product designs.

Desired Education and Experiences

• Presently enrolled in a University Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering program.
