Job summary

Fiscal.ai is hiring a Software Engineer: Product Quality to own the terminal’s quality. You will identify, reproduce, and fix bugs across frontend and backend, and build an end-to-end test framework with Playwright.

Core work includes regression coverage and real-world debugging across the stack. The role emphasizes owning the bug lifecycle, shipping fixes, and contributing to tooling and playbooks for the team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience building end-to-end test automation (Playwright) and unit tests (Vitest or Jest) with CI.
• Strong debugging across the full stack: browser devtools, network traces, server logs, and database queries.
• Experience with data-heavy applications where correctness matters (finance/analytics).
• Proven or strong interest in investing and finance; able to read financial statements and recognize obvious ratios.
• Understanding of paid data products, subscriptions, entitlements, and paywalls.
• Interest or experience with AI technologies, including LLMs; using AI coding agents.
• Keen eye for UI/UX; awareness of layout issues.

Responsibilities

• Own inbound bug pipeline for the Terminal: reproduce, prioritize, fix or route issues from Sentry and customers.
• Fix bugs across frontend, backend, and data layer; investigate root causes rather than patching symptoms.
• Design and build end-to-end test framework for the Terminal using Playwright; run in CI against preview deployments and expand regression coverage.
• Write unit and integration tests alongside fixes to prevent recurrence of bugs.
• Create playbooks, debugging guides, and tooling to be used by the team.
