Job summary

Affim is a remote-first company focused on scalable web apps and APIs. We seek a software engineer to break down projects, ship features, and collaborate with product, design and analytics to deliver reliable software across teams.

You will own code quality, engage in reviews, and contribute to team growth while communicating effectively with a global engineering group. Eligible candidates reside in Canada with 1.5+ years of experience in React and API design.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping web apps with React.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to turn simple problems into multi-component solutions with well-tested, extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large code bases and providing feedback via code reviews.
• Ownership of personal growth and proactive feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration with a global team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases with the team.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics during ideation and decisions.
• Support operations by creating metrics and handling on-call tasks.
• Engage in growth and development activities including interview participation.
