Job summary

Affirm is seeking a software engineer for a remote Canada role. You will ship web apps using React or Vue, mobile apps with React Native, and design APIs at scale with Kotlin or Python. You’ll work with product, design, and analytics to turn ideas into robust software.

You will own tasks from planning to delivery, participate in code reviews, monitor metrics, and support on-call responsibilities. Strong communication and ownership are essential in this remote-first, Canada-wide opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping web apps with declarative UI frameworks (React/Vue).
• Experience shipping mobile apps with React Native.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Kotlin or Python.
• Strong problem-solving with multi-component systems and well-tested code.
• Comfort navigating large code bases, code reviews, and feedback delivery.
• Proactive about growth and feedback, strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate for timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics during ideation and decisions.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts, monitor metrics, and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team community through growth and interview participation.
