Job summary

Amazon EKS team in Vancouver is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build distributed systems powering managed platform experiences for Kubernetes customers. You will own features end-to-end, from design through production, and collaborate with product managers and OSS communities.

You will work across regions to deliver secure, multi-tenant control plane infrastructure while shipping new capabilities weekly, growing deep distributed systems and Kubernetes expertise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems that run across AWS regions.
• Own the full lifecycle of the components you build: design, implementation, testing, launch, and operations.
• Contribute to operational excellence: availability, on-call, incident response, safe deployments, and fault isolation.
• Write and review code to a high bar of quality, security, and maintainability.
• Partner with senior engineers, principal engineers, and product managers to shape feature direction and technical designs.
