Job summary

Amazon in Vancouver is seeking a software engineer to work on large distributed systems across tax-related services. You’ll contribute to design, development, testing, and operations in a fast-paced AWS-based Java/Linux environment.

You will mentor teammates, drive design discussions, and help scale services while delivering high-quality software. A CS degree and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
• Collaborate with peers to deliver scalable and reliable systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor and guide engineers to improve software quality and team effectiveness.
