Job summary

Expedia Group in Vancouver is seeking a Software Engineer to build, test, and deploy Cruise services and applications using Java/Spring. You’ll translate requirements into clean, maintainable code, participate in reviews, and work across databases and cloud systems to deliver reliable Cruise capabilities.

You will join a collaborative team, learn the Cruise platform, and contribute toward a modernized travel platform while working at least three days per week in the local office.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software through professional work, internships, academic projects, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with experience or interest in Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Understanding of core software engineering practices, including object-oriented programming, data structures, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, break work into manageable steps, and ask for help when needed.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a commitment to building inclusive and respectful working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy features in Cruise services and applications.
• Translate product requirements and technical designs into clean, maintainable code.
• Contribute across the technology stack, including Java/Spring services, web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud-based systems.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, incorporating feedback and following team engineering standards.
