The ideal candidate will have deep embedded software expertise, an interest in working across different software engineering domains, and a passion for developing cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support field operations activities, monitor system performance, and implement customer feedback
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and specifications
  • Developing tools and test specifications to support PCB bring-up and QA activities
  • Taking ownership of projects and the initiative to drive them forward
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware engineering, manufacturing, and more) to ensure products exceed stakeholder expectations
  • As needed, supporting non-embedded software engineering activities, such as those related to web development, data engineering, and infrastructure management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in embedded software development
  • Proficiency with C and/or C++ for embedded development, including baremetal and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar) programming on microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M)
  • Experience developing embedded Linux userspace applications using languages such as Python or C++
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools and techniques (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes)
  • Knowledge of embedded communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, and UART
  • Knowledge of internet communication protocols such as HTTP, WebSockets, and MQTT
  • Experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows
  • Familiarity with Linux and Bash
Bonus Requirements:
  • Experience with the full IoT telemetry system software stack
  • Exposure to the NXP S32K MCU family
  • Knowledge of the SAE J1939 protocol or other vehicle communication standards
  • Experience developing safety-critical software or familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or ISO 13849-1
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including for embedded targets
  • Experience with SQL (specifically PostgreSQL) and time series (specifically InfluxDB) database management, including writing/optimizing queries and building visualizations with tools such as Grafana
