Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC is hiring a Software Development Engineer to join a mission-critical platform that automates compliance across Amazon's global network. You’ll work on distributed Java microservices, serverless Lambda functions, and integrate with HR and LMS systems for 1M+ associates globally.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, with responsibilities spanning design, deployment, monitoring, and cross-team collaboration to ensure safe, compliant workforce operations

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable software across the full stack, incl. databases, Lambda, UIs and integrations for 1M+ associates.
Collaborate with regional Learning Managers and operations to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Architect and implement solutions balancing technical and business needs across multiple domains.
Contribute to the full software lifecycle from scoping to maintenance of critical systems.
Improve monitoring and documentation while ensuring reliability for thousands of sites.
