Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Software Engineer - .NET to own end-to-end solutions and drive technical decisions within an Agile environment. You will modernize legacy systems, bridge onshore and offshore teams, and ensure quality and security in production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years IT experience with Agile and full lifecycle development.
• Proficiency with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, REST API, SOAP, Crystal Reports, and PowerShell.
• Strong SQL and SQL Server knowledge with relational databases.
• Experience with CI/DevOps tools (TFS, Git, Artifactory, NuGet) and unit test automation.
• Experience with Razor and Blazor to build UI.
• Experience with GenAI and Copilot.

We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer- .NET to own meaningful projects that drive real impact for our clients’ financial security and wellbeing. What do you need to succeed?

Core Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-year professional IT experience demonstrating proficiency with Agile practices and full application development lifecycle expertise.
• Advanced proficiency with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, REST API, SOAP-based web services, Crystal Report, and Powershell.
• Strong SQL and SQL Server knowledge with solid relational database experience.
• Proven expertise with CI/DevOps tools (TFS, Git, Artifactory, NuGet) and unit test automation.
• Experience with Razor and Blazor to build user interface.
• Experience with modern development tools including GenAI and Copilot.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Financial services or insurance industry background.
• Experience with Java.

Additional Requirements

• Participate in rotating on-call support for production environments.
• Participate in periodic weekend / after-hours work to support project implementations and system upgrades.
• Flexibility for occasional after-hours work and periodic travel between Sun Life locations.

Unique Requirements:

This role requires Reliability Status Clearance. In addition to a law enforcement inquiry and a credit check, as part of your application, the Government of Canada will ask if you lived or travelled outside of Canada for 6-consecutive months during the last 5 years, and you must account for all activities during this time.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
