Job summary

Intelerad in Canada is seeking a Manager, Software Development to lead a team of engineers building healthcare imaging solutions that impact patient care. You will balance technical leadership with people management, guiding delivery, code quality, and secure, compliant software.

You will partner with Product, QA, and other R&D teams to align features with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, FDA, DICOM, HL7) and customer expectations, while fostering growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity
• Experience leading delivery teams and improving throughput or cycle time
• Experience leading combined development and QA teams within an Agile framework
• Experience leading changes in working practices within a R&D organization
• Proven ability to coach and develop developers with constructive feedback
• Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools against production codebase with informed judgment
• Ability to establish team standards, guardrails, review expectations, quality gates, and auditable SDLC for AI-assisted development
• Understanding of architecture for client-server, SaaS, and cloud solutions
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, OS (Linux/UNIX) and databases
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with QA practices including code reviews and CI

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a software team through coaching, mentorship, and career development
• Drives technical execution and delivery of features aligned with product roadmaps
• Collaborates with Product, QA, Support, and other teams to ensure clear requirements and prioritization
• Ensures operational excellence and regulatory compliance for production systems
• Contributes to architectural decisions and evaluates emerging technologies
• Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high standards in R&D
