Job Description

The AWS Networking Telemetry and Engineering (NTE) team owns a data stream responsible for ingestion, enrichment, and transformation of AWS traffic monitoring data. This data is vital for current and future AWS customer needs, including traffic engineering, real-time analysis of network congestion, cost optimization, and capacity forecasting. Our mission is to provide high-quality traffic data and visibility into the Amazon network's traffic utilization.

We seek an exceptional Software Development Engineer (SDE) to develop and automate our software systems that utilize data streaming solutions for next-generation network monitoring. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud computing, understands distributed systems, and can lead and mentor engineering teams. You should be customer-focused and thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent technical, business, and communication skills.

The NTE team is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating AWS's global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems to ensure continuous service availability. We work on complex problems with numerous variables and are looking for talented individuals eager to contribute.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and bring innovative products to market.

A Day in the Life

As an SDE, you will solve problems and innovate in an agile environment, building both short-term and long-term solutions. You will use data for decision-making, learn from colleagues, and help grow your team to achieve excellence.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
