Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET) for Apps to join a quality-first software team in Canada. You will build and maintain automated tests across functional, performance, and integration layers, collaborating with product engineers and developers to improve overall software quality.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in OOP with Swift or Kotlin, strong testing fundamentals, and experience with XCTest/XCUITest or Appium, plus familiarity with Android

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience in Swift or Kotlin.
• Applied knowledge of testing principles, including experience designing and executing test cases.
• Experience using test automation frameworks such as XCTest, XCUITest, UiAutomator, Compose Testing, or Appium.
• Familiarity with Android Studio or Xcode.
• Familiarity with source control management (such as GitHub).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve software issues.
• Effective organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, geography, GIS, mathematics, or a related field.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A self-motivated team player with an interest in continuous learning and building software products.
• Familiarity with CI/CD patterns and tooling (such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with mocking frameworks.
• Proven ability to deliver work within time constraints, in teams and individually.
