RBC Canadian Wealth Management Client source team is looking to onboard a Software Developer who will partner with our agile squads, business partners, and SRE teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performing applications to support client and account onboarding. What will you do?
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications using NodeJS, Kafka, MSSQL, REST & GraphQL APIs.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and design patterns for new and existing systems.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enhance user experience.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications for performance and scalability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, development, and API documentation.
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives efficiently, monitoring and controlling activities according to plan.
- Collaborate on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of deliverables.
- Establish strong working relationships across teams to build influence and impact with key partners.
- Contribute to ongoing administrative activities as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- 3+ years experience in professional, production-grade software development on highly-scalable, moderately complex projects.
- 3+ years experience building REST, GraphQL APIs and Kafka applications using NodeJs.
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL database and skills for complex query optimization.
- Strong experience working in an Agile environment, delivering projects of varying complexity.
- Comfortable presenting prototypes, enhancements, and facilitating questions during agile ceremonies and meetings.
- Strong communication skills to articulate, measure, and resolve issues cross-functionally.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Angular/React and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with DevOps pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, UCD, and monitoring tools like Kibana, Dynatrace, and OpenShift.
- Wealth Management industry experience related to business processes and workflows.
