The Team

• Customer Systems team supports many business lines and platforms including mobile, branches and online systems.
• Size of the projects or deliverables can vary from small to multimillion-dollar project
• CS team evaluates an average of 100 intakes each year related to system modifications and new initiatives or projects.
• There are 50 implementations on average each year to fulfill new business functions, regulatory changes, fixes, software, and hardware currencies.
  

The role:

• Full Stack Software Engineer Specialist / IT&S / Canadian Banking Technology – The candidate must have good understanding on existing web and cloud applications (including complex application systems), evaluate problems, identify actions to be taken and recommend solutions. Understand and work in accordance with Bank application architectural guidelines.

• Work standard and additional overtime hours to meet project deadlines and pager support.
• Must be fluent in English, oral and written, with excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to understand, document and share key system information with their colleagues, support groups, other technical staff, business partners and management.

• Act as a mentor to junior developers on design, development, delivery, operations, and overall development best practices within the bank and industry.
• Requires to be on rotation with other team members for Stand-by/On call (24x7) application support.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• 7+ years of experience Web and Cloud technologies (preferred Microsoft Azure).
• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with development experience in needed language or technology listed below
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large-scale projects from end-to-end
• Hands-on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC
• 1-2 years of prior experience in level 1 production support
• Experience working in an agile environment / methodology an asset
• Fluent in English, oral and written
• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical equivalent
• Technical skills (are must have): Source code repository - *Bitbucket, Git, SourceTree, Clearcase
• Technical skills (are must have): J2EE technologies - *Java, *Web Services (SOAP, REST), *JDBC, JSP, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JNDI, JMS
• Technical skills (are must have): IDE tools - Eclipse, IntelliJ, IBM RAD, WebLogic Workbench, STS (SpringToolSuite), etc.
• Technical skills (are must have): Web application technologies - *Restful APIs, *Spring, *Spring Boot, *JSON, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS/CSS3, AJAX, AngularJS/Angular2+, React, NodeJS, HTML5, and Bootstrap.
