Job summary

JSI is seeking Software Developers to design, develop, and test robust software solutions across diverse technologies. You will collaborate with developers, testers, product owners, and managers to deliver an excellent product that meets customer expectations. A proactive mindset and a drive to grow are valued.

Work in a remote/hybrid setup reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location, with Agile ceremonies and AI tooling adoption as part of the development process.

Qualifications

• Education: Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent diploma/degree.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C# or Java.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Experience in working with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, Develop, and Test: Create robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions following industry best practices and meeting documented acceptance criteria.
• Write Clean Code: Craft well-documented and maintainable code, adhering to coding standards and guidelines.
• Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure compliance with coding conventions and quality standards.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify root causes and implement effective solutions for issues that arise.
• Collaborate: Work closely with your team, including developers, testers, product owners, and managers.
• Continuous Improvement: Embrace a focus on continuous improvement and challenge the status quo.
• Agile Participation: Actively engage in Agile ceremonies, such as daily standups, grooming, sprint reviews, retrospectives, planning, and demos.
• AI tool adoption: understand and adopt the team's approach for working with AI tooling to facilitate development

Technical

Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies:

• Required: proficiency in programming languages such as C# or Java. Bonus points for familiarity with Angular, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Kubernetes, other scripting languages, HTML/CSS.
• Education: Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent diploma/degree.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development best practices
• Experience in working with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

How We Work

You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
