Job summary

Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Software Developer Co-op. You will support Development & UAT for Omniverse extensions, connectors, and apps, leveraging Python, USD and NVIDIA Omniverse in a fast-paced manufacturing tech context.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, learn Azure DevOps for task tracking, and contribute to our Eclipse Vision and culture. Co-op term required; on-site role with some flexibility for schedule and travel.

Qualifications

  • Successful enrolment in a post-secondary program (CS/Engineering or related).
  • Familiarity with Python, USD, and NVIDIA Omniverse is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DCC Software, CAD, and/or spatial computing.
  • Willingness to learn Azure DevOps for pipelines, task management and bug tracking.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player and capable of coordinating with other departments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Co-op/work term required for enrollment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform UAT for Omniverse extensions, connectors, and applications.
  • Use Azure DevOps to feedback tasks, report bugs, track progress.
  • Participate in daily sprint sessions and provide feedback to developers.
  • Aid in development of Omniverse extensions (Python, C++, .USD).
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of Omniverse extensions and connectors.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Work in a team environment and participate in group meetings.

Software Developer Co-op

Location: Cambridge, ON | On-site

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $27.00 - $29.00 / hr

The Position:

The Software Developer Co-op will support the Development & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of our cutting‑edge Omniverse extensions, connectors, and applications. The incumbent will work with advanced technology in the areas of digital twins, AI, and custom automation, contributing to the digital transformation of manufacturing processes. The Software Developer Co-op will work with internal stakeholders to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for Omniverse extension, connectors, and applications
  • Learn and use Azure DevOps to provide feedback on tasks, create bug reports, track progress and communicate with the development team
  • Participate in daily sprint sessions, providing input and feedback, and addressing clarifying questions from developers.
  • Aid in development of Omniverse extensions as required (Python, C++, .USD).
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of Omniverse extensions and connectors
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and or travel as required in varying timelines
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met and notify appropriate departments if milestones are not met
  • Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
  • Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
What We’re Looking For:
  • Successful enrolment in a post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in the Computer Science, Engineering or related program.
  • Familiarity with Python, knowledge of Universal Scene Description (.USD) & NVIDIA Omniverse is a plus
  • Familiarity with DCC Software, CAD, and/or spatial computing
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Azure DevOps for development pipelines, task management and bug tracking.
  • Ability to work within the fast-paced environment, and proven ability to multitask
  • Team player and able to coordinate activities with other departments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Students should be enrolled in a post-secondary academic program requiring a co‑op/work term.
