Richardson International Limited is seeking a Software Developer to join our IT department. You will design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based web applications and backend services used across grain handling, crop inputs, and food processing businesses.

Working in an Agile Scrum team, you will collaborate with analysts, product owners, and fellow developers to translate requirements into high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience with Java or C#, web applications, services, and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Our growing Application Delivery Team currently has an opportunity for a Software Developer within our IT department. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about building high-quality software and thrive on taking ideas from conception through to delivery. In this role, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of applications used across our grain handling, crop inputs, and food processing businesses.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new functionality in our Java-based web applications and back-end services
• Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and other developers as a member of an Agile Scrum team to understand business requirements and deliver software solutions
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while contributing to software quality through automated testing and code reviews
• Participate in code reviews and provide meaningful feedback to support the growth and success of the development team
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and support application issues across development, testing, and production environments
• Contribute to CI/CD initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that enhance software quality and delivery
• Leverage modern software engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery outcomes
• Actively learn and contribute ideas that improve development practices, application architecture, and user experience

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of relevant software development experience
• Working knowledge of object-oriented design and development using languages such as Java or C#
• Experience developing web applications, services, and REST APIs
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and a continuous improvement mindset

The Following Would Be Considered Assets

• Experience with Spring Framework, Vue.js, PL/SQL, Python, Oracle or PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
• Experience using AI-assisted technologies such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to support software development and delivery
