Key job responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain highly reliable, scalable software systems for AWS services.
• Build innovative new features and capabilities into AWS services to solve complex customer problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues through root cause analysis, balancing time-to-resolution with proper fix implementation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions and debugging sessions.
• Drive architecture, design and implementation of systems across object storage, compute, database and analytics.
• Collaborate with product, UX and program management to deliver customer-focused solutions.

A day in the life

Start your day, grab a coffee (or tea), say hi to your team, participate in the daily standup, participate in a design review meeting, have a one-on-one with one of your engineers, work on your team's roadmap, guide the operational review meeting to monitor the health of the service.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
