Job summary

Jobtailor in Canada is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to help define test strategies, analyze requirements and design robust automation frameworks.

You will develop and maintain automated tests (unit to performance), ensure coverage of functional and non-functional requirements, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years in software development or test automation.
• Experience with QA methodologies and automation design.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with pytest, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or Selenium.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control.
• Ability to write test plans, specs, and technical docs.
• Familiarity with Windows or Linux is a plus.

• Contribute to defining test strategies, analyzing requirements, and designing automation frameworks


• Design, develop and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, system, regression and performance tests


• Ensure test coverage meets functional and non-functional requirements


• Write and update test plans, test specifications and associated technical documentation


• Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines


• Manage dependencies related to test projects


• Leverage AI tools and techniques to generate and prioritize test cases, analyze logs, detect anomalies and predict defects


• Analyze test results and participate in triage and investigation of defects in collaboration with development teams


• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA practices, processes and tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent


• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in software development or test automation


• Experience in software quality assurance, testing methodologies and designing automation solutions


• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript


• Experience with test frameworks such as pytest, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Selenium or equivalent tools


• Solid knowledge of CI/CD practices, version control systems and related tools


• Ability to write test plans, specifications and technical documentation


• Familiarity with Windows or Linux environments is an asset


• Interest in applying artificial intelligence to quality assurance is an asset


• Experience working in multidisciplinary or distributed teams is an asset
