Job description

ABOUT ORGANOX:

OrganOx is a commercial stage organ technology company dedicated to developing technologies to improve outcomes for patients with acute or chronic organ failure. The company was established as a spin out of the University of Oxford in 2008 and is now part of the Terumo Group. OrganOx is a pioneer in normothermic machine perfusion (NMP). It's flagship platform, the metra, is available for use in the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia. It has been utilized in over 7,000 liver transplants to date to keep donor livers in a metabolically active state outside the body enabling longer preservation times and functional assessment of the organ prior to transplant, leading to an increased number of organs available for transplant. Founded in 1921, Terumo Corporation (TSE:4543) strives to fulfil its mission of "Contributing to Society through Healthcare" by providing a comprehensive range of solutions in the fields of therapeutic procedures, hospital operations, and life sciences in more than 160 countries and regions.

Position Summary

The Software Delivery Specialist is responsible for coordinating and assuring the effective execution of software delivery activities across OrganOx digital products, software platforms, and technology initiatives. Working within the Digital team, the role acts as an Engineering Delivery Lead / Delivery Coordinator, improving day-to-day delivery execution across internal developers, offshore teams, and external development partners. The role focuses on removing delivery blockers, improving sprint and backlog effectiveness, maintaining delivery transparency, and ensuring SDLC evidence and documentation are current and audit-ready within a regulated healthcare environment.

The Software Delivery Specialist supports the Digital Software Manager and Product teams by coordinating people, priorities, dependencies, evidence, and execution. The role provides delivery visibility, risk management, and cross-functional coordination across Product Management, Engineering, QA/RA, Operations, and external partners, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.

This is an on-site position in Oxford with flexibility.

Listed below are the major responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally exhaustive.

Major Responsibilities

Under direction from the Digital Software Manager, the Software Delivery Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate day-to-day software delivery activities across internal developers, offshore teams, external development partners, and relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Identify, track, and support removal of delivery blockers, impediments, execution risks, and unresolved dependencies.
  • Drive accountability for agreed actions, commitments, dependencies, delivery milestones, and work package outcomes.
  • Support effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, delivery reviews, retrospectives, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate delivery alignment across Product Management, Engineering, QA/RA, Operations, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure SDLC deliverables, traceability records, delivery evidence, and audit trails are completed, maintained, and audit-ready.
  • Monitor adherence to OrganOx quality procedures, regulatory processes, and software lifecycle expectations.
  • Maintain RAID logs, action trackers, dependency registers, delivery controls, and concise delivery status reporting.
  • Provide visibility of delivery health, blockers, resource constraints, priority conflicts, forecasts, and execution risks to the Software Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive improvements in delivery predictability, throughput, communication, hand-offs, and team effectiveness.
  • Support adoption of delivery tools, reporting practices, Agile ways of working, and engineering delivery improvements.
  • Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx's Code of Conduct and all other company policies.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience coordinating software delivery across internal developers, offshore teams, and external development partners.
  • Strong Agile delivery, backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery facilitation experience.
  • Experience managing dependencies, risks, actions, delivery metrics, delivery forecasts, and team-level delivery reporting.
  • Experience working within regulated software development environments, ideally healthcare, medical technology, or another safety-critical sector.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC deliverables, traceability, documentation control, verification evidence, release artefacts, and audit readiness.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent software delivery and documentation toolchains.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to challenge delivery assumptions, drive accountability, and maintain focus on agreed actions and outcomes.
  • Good working understanding of software engineering concepts, including APIs, cloud platforms, DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and release management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technology platforms, Azure, and modern cloud architecture is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Management, or another relevant STEM-related subject.
  • Professional certifications such as AgilePM, SAFe, Scrum Master, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent are desirable, provided they support delivery coordination rather than replacing engineering management, product ownership, or project governance responsibilities.
