Your Opportunity
Nested within Stantec’s multiple disciplinary Human Environment team, our Socio-Economic team is looking for our new Socio-Economic practitioner. Our team specializes in socio-economic and community impact assessment, supporting reports, management plans, and monitoring plans. Our team collaborates on opportunities to apply a social lens to multi-disciplined projects including buildings and architecture, community planning, and social programming. The successful candidate will support our projects across various industries, contribute to exciting new proposals, and will also shape and mentor our rapidly expanding team.
The ideal candidate has recent and substantial experience conducting socio-economic impact assessments within western Canada, has proven capacity as a leading team member, and has excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience and interest in health impact assessment, land use assessment, economic assessments, gender-based analysis plus (GBA), and related social, economic or infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading community-research programs, household sample surveys, and key informant interviews. The successful candidate will work with our multidisciplinary team, including our Indigenous Services team and Engagement team to identify innovative ways to understand potential project impacts under the constantly evolving regulatory environment.

Education and Experience
University degree in Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Geography, resource Management, Planning, Environmental Health or related social or environmental sciences discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience conducting socio-economic assessments, environmental impact assessments, feasibility or needs assessments, gender-based analyses, community health assessments, social impact assessments or related activities.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
