Job summary

Pathstone Mental Health is seeking a Social Worker/Registered Therapist 1 – Walk-In to support our walk-in sites with solution-focused single-session therapy for families and children. The role includes delivering Choice appointments to implement the CAPA model across Pathstone locations.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of clinical experience, is registered with the appropriate college, and can work at various Walk-In sites. This is a unionized, full-time role based in Ontario.

Qualifications

• B.S.W. or related discipline required.
• Registered as Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (or Registered as Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists).
• 3–4 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Experience with evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Familiarity with virtual platforms (email, text, online counselling) is an asset.
• Understanding of virtual care formats and privacy responsibilities is an asset.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within six months.
• Bilingual in French and English preferred.
• Indigenous population experience is an asset.
• Valid driver's license and insurability to drive in Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Provide solution-focused single-session therapy at walk-in sites for families and children.

Position Summary

The Social Worker/Registered Therapist 1 – Walk In will help support our walk-in sites by providing solution-focused single session therapy to families and children. In addition, the Therapist will conduct Choice appointments to support the implementation of the CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) model at Pathstone. This position will work at various Walk In locations.

Qualifications

• B.S.W., or related discipline;
• Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists;
• 3 -4 years relevant clinical experience
• Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions;
• Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling) would be considered an asset;
• If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset;
• Good communication and organizational skills;
• A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within six (6) months;
• Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
• Experience working with the Indigenous population is an asset;
• Valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
