Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is hiring a casual Social Worker (MSW) to join the South Asian Shapedown Program at Langley Memorial Hospital in Langley, BC. This role focuses on psychosocial assessments and therapeutic counselling for child/adolescent/family clients.

Reporting to the Program Team Leader, the MSW will provide individual and group counselling, collaborate with the health care team, and support program development and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.
• Three years of recent related clinical experience with individuals, families, and groups.
• Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
• Current valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business related purposes.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes social work within the South Asian Shapedown Program and participates in team activities.
• Conducts psycho-emotional and social assessments of child/adolescent/families.
• Assesses readiness to make lifestyle changes and participate in care planning.
• Consults with community health professionals to enhance continuity of care.
• Educates and provides consultation to families and healthcare professionals.
• Maintains records of patient assessments and prepares progress notes per standards.
• Communicates with community health and social agencies to link resources.
• Assists in program planning and review of treatment protocols.
