Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders? We are seeking passionate individuals with a Master's Degree in Social Work to join our dedicated team.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of recent, related experience working directly with clients and families impacted by mental illness and substance use disorders. Your understanding of social work principles and compassionate support will be essential in helping individuals on their journey to recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive social work and psychosocial assessments of patients experiencing acute episodes of mental illness and substance misuse, using various modalities in accordance with professional standards and policies.
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care through liaison, referral, resource finding, advocacy, and coordination activities.
  • Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and families to coordinate services and develop care plans.
  • Provide education, consultation, and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding mental health issues and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, document assessments, and prepare reports per standards and regulations.
  • Deliver therapeutic counseling services addressing emotional and psychosocial responses to mental illness.
  • Engage in program evaluation, research activities, and professional development to improve service quality.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
  • One year's recent, relevant experience in a mental health setting.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
Skills and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of mental health and addiction issues, cultural dynamics, and community resources.
  • Effective counseling, crisis intervention, and group facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with relevant software and remote communication tools.
