Job Description : Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums.

Education

• Recognized Bachelor Degree in Social Work is required.

Experience

• Requires a minimum one year (postgraduate) recent recognized experience working within adult community mental health and addiction services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of a variety of mental health disorders and addiction and harm reduction strategies required to enable clients to sustain stability.
• Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies is essential.
• Experience working with mental health and addiction community outreach and competence in delivering mental health and addiction crisis interventions.
• Knowledge of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for individuals with mental health and addiction problems in a community based setting, including, but not limited to : assessment, triage, treatment, case management.
