Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator or Social Work Manager, the Social Worker assesses and provides services to meet the emotional and social needs of an assigned group of residents and their families. Collaborating with other healthcare providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker offers direct psychosocial care, system navigation, and advocacy. The role involves developing social work services to maintain or enhance the health, social well-being, and functioning of residents.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited university;
• Registered and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers;
• At least two years' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in Gerontology or Chronic Diseases;
• Knowledge of healthcare-related legislation, community resources, and programs.

Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
