West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. (West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel) is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to elevate its digital presence through engaging content, community management, and customer support across platforms.

You will create photos/videos, monitor channels, collaborate with the team, and provide analytics, while attending events for live coverage and staying current with trends.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of social media marketing and management experience.
• Degree or certificate in Marketing, Communications or PR is an asset.
• Knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
• Experience with social media tools: Hootsuite, Asana, Monday.com, Canva, CapCut.
• Experience with digital photography, video production and photo editing is an asset.
• Strong multitasking, organizational and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong content creation skills in photo, video and writing.
• Self-motivated and resourceful with problem-solving ability.

Job description

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for enhancing West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel’s digital presence by developing compelling content, engaging with the online community, and providing exceptional customer support through social media channels and CRM tools.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create compelling photos and video content that highlights West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel in a positive and engaging manner across all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Collaborate with the Social Content Specialist and Social Media Coordinator to ideate content, set social media goals, and create visual and written communication that connects with target audiences.
• Actively engage with West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel’s online community by monitoring and responding to guest comments, identifying high-quality user generated content, and monitoring DM responses to ensure accuracy.
• Utilize CRM tool to schedule, monitor, and provide analytics/reporting for social media posts across multiple accounts.
• Write engaging, on-brand copy that connects with target audiences while ensuring factual and grammatical accuracy.
• Review social media posts for accuracy and brand alignment, monitor and remove any inappropriate comments in accordance with West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel’s social media guidelines.
• Attend West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel events, including in the evenings and weekends as needed, to conduct live coverage and collect photo/video content for future use.
• Stay up to date on the latest social media trends, innovations, and best practices to further enhance West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel’s social media presence.
• Maintain strong knowledge of West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel’s offerings and experiences to serve as an ambassador for the property and provide accurate information to guests.

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience with social media marketing and management.
• Degree or certificate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline is an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Experience using social media management and content creation tools such as Hootsuite, Asana, Monday.com, Canva, and CapCut.
• Experience with digital photography, video production, and photo editing software is an asset.
• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment.
• Strong content creation skills, including photo, video, and written communication.
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to ideate and solve problems effectively.

Terms Of Employment

• This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability on evenings and weekends.
• This is a salaried position that depends on experience and qualifications.
• This position qualifies for West Edmonton Mall’s Four-Day Work Week Program following the successful completion of a minimum three-month probation period.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
