The salary range for this position is:
Mandate:
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Social Media and News Coordinator plays an integral role in UCAM’s mandate to communicate UVic’s vision and achieve its strategic objectives. Through social media strategy, content creation, and news coordination and distribution, they promote and protect UVic’s brand as one of Canada’s leading research-intensive universities. Their work raises UVic’s profile, reputation and brand affinity and contributes to the success of institutional channels.
Objectives:
This role requires occasional work outside of normal business hours to support events, activities and emergency response. This could include emergency and crisis communication activities such as supporting the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and/or assisting the UVic emergency response network with community-wide notifications.
Requirements:
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in communications plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
