ONE Campaign in North America seeks a Social Media and Design Coordinator to lead bilingual content for Canada and the US, reporting to the Media Relations Manager. This full-time role is based in Ottawa or Washington, DC with a hybrid schedule and a fast-paced newsroom rhythm.
You will draft social copy in English and French, design assets, support rapid-response campaigns, and collaborate with teams across Europe and Africa to adapt materials for North American audiences.
ONE is a global, nonpartisan organization fighting for a more just world by demanding the investments needed to create economic opportunities and healthier lives in Africa. We do this by deploying trusted and dynamic advocacy that leverages hard-hitting data, credible grassroots activism, creative political engagement, and strategic partnerships. We use all this to influence decision-makers to take action and tackle the world’s biggest challenges. Read more at www.one.org.
The Social Media and Design Coordinator (North America) supports ONE's North America social media engagement strategy, encompassing high-profile campaigns in Canada and the United States. Reporting to the Media Relations Manager, North America Advocacy, the Coordinator works closely with communications colleagues across North America, Europe, and Africa, and is supported by staff throughout the organization as required.
This is a build moment for the North America team. We are standing up a new editorial function, and developing a rapid-response capability that turns breaking policy news into content within hours. You will help shape how that work reaches audiences rather than simply pushing it out the door, and you will learn fast-turnaround production alongside colleagues who do it under real deadlines.
Based in Ottawa or Washington DC, you bring a perspective to a team that works across both markets. You understand that a message built for a specific audience does not automatically across the border, and you can say specifically what needs to change. Ideally, you draft comfortably in French and English. You know what performs natively on each platform, and you can tell the difference between content that looks polished and content that actually moves people to act.
We are looking for someone who brings ideas rather than waits for direction, and who is willing to make the case for a different approach when the platform calls for it. You will get direct feedback on your work, and you are expected to offer it in return. You should have a demonstrable interest in development issues and African current affairs, the ability to communicate complex issues concisely, and real care for the detail.
This is a Full-Time opportunity reporting directly to the Media Relations Manager, and is based in the Ottawa or Washington DC areas.
Fluency in English required. Fluency in French is a distinct advantage.
This role can be based in Washington, DC or Ottawa, Canada. The Washington, DC office has a hybrid attendance of 3 days per week in the office. The Ottawa, Canada office is remote with employees working within the Ottawa-metro area to accommodate regular in-person meetings. Team schedules and business needs may dictate the specific days/times you need to be in the office. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
ONE offers competitive compensation and an exceptional benefits package along with the opportunity to contribute to worldwide causes impacting those most in need. The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $65,000.
We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to applicants. When an applicant with a disability needs an accommodation to have an equal opportunity to compete for a job, they may request it orally or in writing (please email recruiting@one.org). ONE will process requests for reasonable accommodation and will provide reasonable accommodations where appropriate, in a prompt and efficient manner.
