Job summary

Edmonton Soccer Academy is seeking passionate and dedicated Soccer Coaches to join our growing team for weekend training sessions (Saturdays and Sundays) in Edmonton and surrounding areas. This is a part-time, on-site position with compensation provided on a per-session basis, offering flexibility and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young players.

As a Soccer Coach, you will work with children aged 5–14, helping them develop their soccer abilities while building confidence,

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and tactics.
• Experience coaching youth or working with children is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with ages 5–14 and adapt coaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate soccer training sessions.
• Develop players' technical abilities, tactical understanding, and overall soccer intelligence.
• Support children of different ages, skill levels, and experience.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Provide constructive feedback and monitor individual player development.
• Maintain a safe and organized training environment.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and academy management to maintain consistent training standards.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, techniques, and tactics.
• Previous soccer coaching experience is preferred, but candidates with strong playing backgrounds and a passion for youth development are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children aged 5–14 and adapt coaching methods to different age groups.
• Enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, and positively influencing young players.
• Strong leadership, patience, reliability, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create fun, engaging sessions while maintaining discipline and structure.
• Soccer coaching certifications (Canada Soccer, provincial certifications, or equivalent) are considered an asset.
• First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
• Availability on Saturdays and/or Sundays is required.
