Job summary

Avanciers Incorporated is seeking a Snowflake Admin to join a client project in Markham, ON. The role is fulltime and onsite five days a week.

You will lead Snowflake administration, platform operations, and security, with a focus on RBAC, cost optimization, and performance tuning in enterprise settings. Strong SQL and IaC experience (Terraform) are required, along with familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, or Bitbucket.

Qualifications

• 7 or more years of hands-on Snowflake administration or cloud data platform operations.
• Strong Snowflake architecture knowledge and account usage metrics.
• Experience with RBAC, security policies, and least-privilege access.
• Production Snowflake environment experience in enterprise or regulated settings.
• Experience with Terraform or IaC and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• 7+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration, platform engineering, or cloud data operations.
• Manage Snowflake architecture: accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, stages, shares, integrations, and usage views.
• Administer RBAC, security policies, and least-privilege access patterns.
• Operate production Snowflake environments in enterprise or regulated settings.
• Optimize cost and performance; monitor workloads and failures; ensure compliance.

Job Description

• 7 or more years of hands-on experience with Snowflake administration, platform engineering, or cloud data platform operations.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, including accounts, organizations, databases, schemas, warehouses, stages, tasks, streams, shares, integrations, and account usage views.
• Strong experience with Snowflake RBAC, role hierarchy design, access management, security administration, and least-privilege access patterns.
• Experience administering production Snowflake environments in an enterprise or regulated environment.
• Experience with Snowflake warehouse management, workload monitoring, query troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Experience with Snowflake security features such as network policies, authentication policies, masking policies, row access policies, object tagging, auditing, and service account controls.
• Working knowledge of identity integration patterns such as SSO, SCIM, Entra ID groups, MFA, service accounts, and key-pair authentication.
• Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code practices for platform configuration and automated deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, or similar platforms.

Strong SQL skills and ability to analyze account usage, query history, access history, and operational metadata.

• Working knowledge of AWS data services such as S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, KMS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, RDS, and PrivateLink.
• Strong understanding of change management, incident management, production support, operational readiness, and audit evidence requirements.
