Job summary

LaPrairie Works Inc. is seeking Snowplow Operators for Highway Maintenance in Red Earth, Alberta. You will operate winter equipment and plows to clear roads while maintaining logs and adhering to safety standards.

The role requires experience in winter and highway maintenance, a valid Class 1 or 3 license, and the ability to work day and night shifts and be on-call. Relocation support may be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with off-road and winter driving.
• Experience in highway maintenance activities (winter maintenance, repairs, roadside and bridge maintenance).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work day/night shifts and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Operate spreader, plow wing, combo unit or tow plow to clear local roads per contract requirements.
• Operate required specialized winter equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and perform routine maintenance/ minor repairs.
• Review route maps and application rates; maintain accurate hours, safety and fuel records.
• Observe and uphold HSE fundamentals; report defects and fuel issues to Foreman/Superintendent.
• Check and refill fuels/fluids to specs; log refueling in inspection log.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports; participate in ISO 9001:2015 QA system.

We are looking to hire Snowplow Operators, Highway Maintenance based in Red Earth, Alberta.

Role and Responsibilities

• Operation of spreader, plow wing, combo unit or tow plow in a safe and efficient manner to carry out the clearing of local roads as per the contract requirements.
• Operate required specialized winter equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the equipment and conduct any routine maintenance, including performing minor repairs as needed.
• Review and understand route maps and application rates.
• Complete/ maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and fuel reports.
• Observe and uphold HSE fundamentals.
• Responsible for pre & post inspection check of equipment and track in log book.
• Report any equipment defects or maintenance issues to Foreman/Superintendent.
• Responsible for checking and refilling equipment fuels and fluids to required specs.
• Track any refueling or top ups in inspection log.
• Prepare and submit necessary reports (daily, weekly, etc.).
• Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• Experience with off-road & winter driving.
• Experience in highway maintenance activities, such as winter maintenance, surface repairs, roadside and bridge maintenance.
• Ability to work day/night shifts and be on-call.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 license.
• Driver’s abstract in good standing.
• First Aid Training.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Dedicated work ethic and ability to work day shifts, night shifts, and on-call.

Preference will be given to candidates that hold a valid Class 1 license and are able to work night shifts.
