Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Join us as a SNAP Specialist I to help neighbors in Oklahoma access essential nutrition assistance. You will educate, assist, and empower individuals and families to navigate the SNAP program, ensuring they receive the assistance they need.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Educate and assist individuals with SNAP requirements and applications.
  2. Conduct SNAP education sessions and application help programs.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies and community organizations.
  4. Assist with application submissions using OKDHSLive.org, aiming to process at least 50 applications monthly.
  5. Refer clients to additional services and programs.
  6. Identify and collaborate with partner programs to support SNAP applications.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with office applications and ability to learn new software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role is primarily performed in an office environment with limited exposure to weather and environmental hazards. Travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
