Job description

Job Type: Casual / On Call

Wage: $17.40 per hour

Gateway Casino is seeking a customer-service pro who loves working in the fast-paced and exciting world of the casino. The Slot Attendant role puts you in the heart of the action. This role is ideal for those who love interacting with the public and providing next-level support to our many guests who enjoy playing the slot machines.

In this role, you provide vital front-line customer support that includes observing slot players and machines in specific areas. You will also offer instruction and answer questions on various games and machines to ensure our guests have a memorable experience at Gateway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with awareness of and excitement for on-going and up-coming Casino promotions.
  • Manage slot machine reservations and promote casino initiatives.
  • Work in compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures and/or provincial lottery/gaming policies and procedures.
  • Manage a cash float, verifies and provides jackpot payouts and monetary change to guests.
  • Report any violations and escalates to the appropriate level as necessary.
  • Replenishes and maintains slot machines, monitors machine stack lights to ensure prompt service.
  • Acquire and maintain a knowledge of all slot operation policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

What You Bring

  • 1 year minimum experience handling cash and working with the public.
  • Flexible availability, including weekdays, for on call opportunities
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of slot machine functions is an asset.
  • Able to stand/walk for long periods of time and pull, lift, and carry objects weighted similar to a full box of paper.
  • Serving It Right Certificate
  • The ability to obtain registration with BCLC
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment.
  • A willingness to develop new skills and stay on top of the latest industry news and insights.
