Job summary

ePac Flexible Packaging in Mississauga is seeking a Slitting Operator to set up, run, and maintain our slitting lines, cutting laminated film to exact widths and meeting customer quality specifications. You will perform pre-run testing, verify coding weights and bond strength, load material, thread through tension bars, monitor cut quality, and wrap finished rolls for shipping.

This role requires strong safety and quality judgment, accurate documentation, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to read rulers and gauges accurately.
• Skill in using a micrometer and testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and clear communication; team-oriented.
• Ability to document production data on paper and computer forms.
• Safe and quality-focused decision making; willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Set up the slitting machine and run production to specified widths.
• Clean and maintain the slitter; prepare for closing operations.
• Perform pre-run material testing and verify weights and bond strength.
• Load and thread material, monitor flow, and ensure proper alignment of blades.
• Wrap and label finished rolls, palletize, and fill out manifests for orders.
• Complete production documentation and report any maintenance or safety issues.
