Job summary

ChamClad, a division of Wausau Supply Company, Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a Slitting Staff to prepare, slit, label and manage foil rolls for production. You will ensure material accuracy, quality, inventory control and safe operation of the slitting equipment.

Be ready to review schedules, follow FIFO, maintain tension, label with care, monitor patterns and color separation, and report issues to the Machine Team Leader.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs regularly.
  • Willing to work second shift with a $2.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily slitting schedule and prepare foils accordingly.
  • Check existing stock before slitting; follow FIFO rules.
  • Operate and monitor the slitting machine safely at all times.
  • Dyne test all new rolls and maintain correct tension during slitting.
  • Limit each roll to a maximum of three slits and label rolls accurately.
  • Ensure correct patterns, grain consistency, and color separation.
  • Identify, label, and report defective or re-rolled foils.
  • Communicate material availability and issues with the Machine Team Leader.
  • Maintain foil inventory counts and update tracking documentation.
  • Work with Machine Operators to reduce waste and use materials efficiently.
  • Keep the Slitting Station clean, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Assist Machine or Shipping Departments when available.

What This Role Will Be Doing
