Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate slitting/packaging cell to cut, package and label various rolled roofing products.
• Provide support to maintenance team to troubleshoot machine issues and optimize processes.
• Demonstrate urgency in achieving results.
• Perform daily area walks to ensure guards and safety devices are in place.
• Record safety equipment checks as part of the safety program.
• Verify packaging and counts meet specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Expected hours of work is Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 7:00 am.

This position is a unionized role within our production team. As a Slitter Operator, you will be required to learn, understand, and put into practice all of our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operator/Slitter. You must be able to work in an environment with distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate slitting/packaging cell to cut, package and label various rolled roofing products.
• Provide support to maintenance team members to help troubleshoot machine issues and make improvements (optimization) within the department.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results.
• Perform daily walks around your work area to ensure guards and safety devices are in place.
• Perform checks on safety equipment and record results as part of an ongoing safety program.
• Perform checks to validate the acceptability of product packaging and product counts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Two to Three Years of Manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.

Additional Information

This is a fully onsite position. The employee is expected to be physically present at their designated work location during scheduled hours. In-person attendance is essential for collaboration, access to onsite resources, and the performance of job responsibilities. Employees must comply with all site-specific safety, security, and conduct policies.
