Spectrum Resource Group is seeking a Slasher/Brusher for on-call vegetation management projects nationwide. You will operate chainsaws and brush-cutting equipment to clear vegetation and prepare sites for forestry, construction, or agricultural use.

We value certified chainsaw operation, safety discipline, and the ability to travel and stay away from home. Overtime, holiday and vacation pay are included, along with PPE and comprehensive training.

Formación

• Certified Chainsaw operator required.
• Ability to traverse steep slopes and work up to 7+ hours daily.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home for periods.
• Valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s License with fewer than 6 demerits.
• First Aid certification (BC Intermediate/Advanced) considered an asset.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb infrequently and 30 lb frequently.
• Must be punctual, dependable and accountable.

Responsabilidades

• Use manual tools (chainsaws, axes, machetes) and machinery (brush cutters) to clear trees, shrubs, and thick brush.
• Cut down and remove overgrown vegetation to improve land accessibility or prepare it for use.
• Gather and remove cut vegetation and debris, disposing or mulching as needed.
• In forested or dry areas, clear dead or dry brush to reduce wildfire risk.
• Clear paths for vehicles, workers, or machinery.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear PPE to reduce injury risk.
• Other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use manual tools (chainsaws, axes, machetes, etc.) and machinery (brush cutters) to clear trees, shrubs, and thick brush from a designated area.

• Cut down and remove overgrown vegetation to improve land accessibility or prepare it for agricultural, construction, or forestry use.

• Gather and remove cut vegetation and debris from the site, ensuring it is properly disposed of or managed (e.g., mulching, burning, hauling away).

• In forested or dry areas, clear dead or dry brush to reduce the risk of wildfires.

• Clear paths for vehicles, workers, or machinery.

• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of injury.

• Other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills Expectations:

• Certified Chainsaw operator

• Ability to traverse steep slopes and work for more than 7 hours a day

• The ability to work away from home for periods of time.

• Valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s License with less than 6 demerits

• B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent, is considered an asset.

• Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening.

• Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

• Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field.

• The ability to work away from home for periods of time.
