Job description

Northern College is seeking a Skilled Tech and Trades Recruitment Associate in our Student Recruitment department. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team setting, be organized and proficient with MS Office Suite, with advanced PowerPoint skills. Experience using a customer relationship management tool is considered an asset, as well as experience in the technology and/or skilled trades industry sector, sales, or related lead generation fields.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications, and External Relations, the successful candidate will serve as a primary recruitment contact and ongoing liaison between the College and prospective students, current students, industry partners, community groups, secondary schools, and other influencers. This role involves matters related to application for admission, program information, course details, and college services.

What You Will Be Doing
  1. Liaising with secondary school educators, industry contacts, upgrading/adult education centres, and other influencers to collect leads and recruit students into Northern College’s skilled trades and technology programs.
  2. Visiting high schools within the Northern College catchment area, throughout Northern Ontario, and into Northwestern Quebec (other regions may be required) for grade 11/12 presentations, parent-teacher events, Grade 10 career classes, co-op presentations, career and education fairs, and follow-up visits.
  3. Assisting with the planning, coordinating, logistics, and implementation of major College marketing events (e.g., career fairs at local high schools).
  4. Collecting and entering leads from prospective students and influencers into the CRM (e.g., Salesforce) promptly.
  5. Managing recruitment travel budgets during the recruitment cycle, including preparation, maintenance, and review.

What You Will Need To Be Considered
  1. Two-year diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Human Services, Trades and Technology, or a related/relevant field.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, promotion, making presentations, career counseling, budget management, project management, or event planning management.
  3. Experience collaborating on projects.
  4. Experience with budget management, project management, or event planning management.
