Job summary

CiviCorp Excavation Inc. is hiring Skilled Labourers to support excavation, trenching, and underground utility projects across Nova Scotia. You will work with the Site Foreman and equipment operators, keeping sites safe, organized, and productive.

Ideal candidates have civil construction or labour experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. Valid driver's license is a plus; safety training is available on the job.

Qualifications

• Previous civil construction or labour experience is an asset.
• Safety certifications are an asset (training available).

CiviCorp Excavation Inc. is a growing civil construction contractor specializing in excavation, earthworks, underground utilities, and site development across Nova Scotia. We're looking for hard-working Skilled Labourers who take pride in their work, keep a safe and organized site, and support our crews on excavation, trenching, and underground utility projects. This role reports to the Site Foreman and works closely with equipment operators and other ground crew.

• Previous experience in civil construction, excavation, underground utilities, road building, or infrastructure work is an asset.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a crew.
• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's licence is an asset.
• Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, or Traffic Control are an asset (training available).

Job Conditions & Physical Requirements

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions, with physical hazards such as noise, dust, fumes, uneven ground, and moving equipment present throughout active construction sites. Required PPE includes safety boots, hearing protection, hi-visibility clothing, and a hard hat. Labourers should be able to stand, walk, bend, and work on uneven ground for extended periods; frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and maintain steady attention to their surroundings for safe, productive work. Workdays may be long and start early depending on project schedules.
